ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
Kate is possibly the most diminant student-athlete Clark College has been in women's track and field. During her two years at Clark College, she achieved greatness by entering 22 first place finishes. She was a four-time NWAACC Champion: twice in the hammer throw and twice in the discus throw. During Kate's 2005 campaign, not only did she win the NWACC's Most Outstanding Field Athlete award at the NWACC Championships, but she also set an American Junior College record in the hammer throw at 188'3'. This recird still holds todday. Although these accolades are notable, Kate's most impressive stat was maintaining a 3.95 GPA during her tenure as a Clark student-athlete.
After Clark College, Kate did not slow down. She attended the University of Wyoming on an athletic scholarship, graduating with her Bachelor of Science (2009) and her Master of Science (2011) in Mechanical Engineering. While at the University of Wyoming, Kate won the Mountain West Conference Championships in the hammer and weight throw and placed 10th in the NCAA cmapionships in 2008 for the hammer throw. During that same year, she qualified and competed in the Olympic trials. Kate still holds the Mountain West Conference record in the hammer throw.
Once Kate graduated, competition did not stop. Kate went on to compete at the highest level of the Highland Games. In 2013, She set a world record in the light weight and throw for distance--a record she currently still holds--and in 2015 set another world record in the sheaf toss, although this record has since been broken.
Kate currently works at Delta Marine Industries where she designs systems for mega yachts. She is married to Bucky Jacobsen. In 2017, the couple welcomed a baby, Baron Tate Jacobsen.
