ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME
The Penguins were the first champions of the Washington State Junior College Athletic Conference (WSJCAC) in 1947. They represented the State of Washington in the Western States College Tournament held in Compton, CA. Playing four games in two days on March 4th and 6th, 1947, they beat Branch Agricultural of Utah, lost to host Compton, then defeated Dixie College of Utah and Pasadena of California to place fourth. Jim Johnson scored 101 points and was the tournament MVP. Their WSJCAC record was 14-2 and their overall mark was 26-5. The 1946-47 team was inducted into the NWAACC Hall of Fame in 2008.
