Clark's 1994 and 1995 track and field teams both won the NWAACC championship. The back-to-back title broke a 32 year hiatus from the top step for the Penguins. The 1994 team was led by Ernie Ammons as the high point winner. In 1994, the team narrowly defeated Clackamas in the championship (at Lewis and Clark College in Portland) by four points with a score of 163 to 159. The Penguins won five individual titles and the 400 meter relay. During the 1994 season, Clark suffered only one loss to Clackamas at the Southern Region Championships. There were five men who went on to be NAIA and NCAA All-Americans and two Olympic Trial Qualifiers.

Clark was undefeated in the 1995 season. They swept through spring season and dominated the NWAACC Championship held at Spokane Falls. Clark outscored the second-place team by 73.5 points, again winning five individual titles and repeating as the 400 meter relay champion. Sonte Wong was the high point winner with 30.5 points, just ahead of teammate Ernie Ammons with 30 points. There were three men who went on to be NAIA and NCAA All-Americans and one Olympic Track Qualifier.

Both teams were inducted into the NWAACC Hall of Fame in 2011.
