Penguins Open Season at NWAC Friendlies

Both the Clark men's and women's soccer teams opened their regular season with 2 games each at the NWAC Friendlies held in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30.  The event hosted approximately 50 men's and women's teams over the 2 day span.
 
WOMEN'S SOCCER

Saturday, Clark vs Shoreline 2-1 win
Clark went down early on an early goal by Shoreline but battled back to tie it just before half on a wonderful strike by Freshman Ellie Quercia. With the wind at their backs, the Penguins dominated play in the 2nd half and sealed the win on Sophomore Brenna Bogle's goal at the 70th minute.

Sunday, Clark vs North Idaho College 2-0 win
This win was a true team effort by the Penguins with 23 players getting minutes. Ellie Quercia scored the first goal on a free kick just outside of the penalty area after Sophomore Maddie Reynolds was taken down from behind on a breakaway. The Penguins struck the back of the net again early in the 2nd half when Freshman Daisy Risueno sent a through ball to Freshman Megan Bloom who lifted the ball past the oncoming goal keeper. The defense preserved the shut out behind steady play of Freshmen Meagan Forsman, Abby Bohn, and Courtney Zumstein, and Sophomore Savannah Ware
