Penguins Conclude Regular Season With a Win

November 1, 2025 – Vancouver, WA

Clark College men's soccer wrapped up its regular season with a thrilling 3–2 comeback victory over South Puget Sound on Saturday afternoon at Kim Christensen Field.

After falling behind twice, the Penguins stormed back behind a pair of goals from Hazim Huskic and a second-half strike from Evan Roscoe to secure their ninth win of the season.

South Puget Sound opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Alex Canning converted off an assist from Grant Fischer. Clark answered just before halftime as Huskic found the back of the net in the 44th minute to even the match at 1–1 heading into the break.

Canning struck again early in the second half, this time from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, to restore the Clippers' lead. But Clark responded with determination. Roscoe leveled the score in the 65th minute, finishing a setup from Emin Music off a corner kick. Less than two minutes later, Huskic struck again—his second of the match—slotting home a pass from Christopher Solano to give the Penguins a 3–2 advantage.

From there, Clark's defense and goalkeeping held firm. Luciano Alvarado stopped seven shots in the first half, and Patrick Murphy added four saves in the second to preserve the win. The Penguins also benefited from timely defensive saves by Evan Roscoe, Brandon Hernandez, and Javaughn McRae, who each cleared dangerous chances off the line.

Clark was out shot by South Puget Sound 16–24 but made their chances count, converting three of 10 shots on goal. The Penguins also earned nine corner kicks to the Clippers' two and maintained control through much of the second half.

With the victory, Clark improves to 9-3-3 overall and in NWAC play, building momentum heading into the postseason. They will head to Bellingham, WA to play Whatcom in the first round of the NWAC playoffs on Wednesday.
