Job Announcement: Assistant Coach - Women's Soccer

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College Women's Soccer is in the process of hiring two assistant coaches for the 2026 season.
 

About This Position

Summary:
The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach reports to the Head Women's Soccer Coach and assists with the instruction, leadership, recruitment, academic support, team travel, fundraising, and daily operations of the Clark College Women's Soccer program. This position supports the development of student-athletes on and off the field while contributing to a positive, competitive, and student-centered intercollegiate experience.
The Assistant Coach helps maintain high standards for academic achievement, athletic performance, personal conduct, and program culture. This position is expected to support a team environment rooted in pride, respect, accountability, sportsmanship, commitment, and positive representation of Clark College.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Assist with coaching student-athletes during practices and competitions, including instruction in technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of the game.
  • Evaluate student-athlete performance, provide feedback, and support individual and team development throughout the season.
  • Model and promote sportsmanship, professionalism, respect, accountability, and ethical behavior consistent with the standards of Clark College Athletics.
  • Support student-athlete academic success by monitoring academic progress, encouraging classroom responsibility, assisting with study hall expectations, and communicating with appropriate college personnel as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture that emphasizes pride, respect, belonging, discipline, academic excellence, competitive standards, and service to Clark College.
  • Assist with recruiting qualified student-athletes who are strong fits for the women's soccer program and Clark College, while maintaining compliance with NWAC rules, departmental policies, and college procedures.
  • Participate in staff discussions related to team selection, tactics, scouting, match preparation, player development, load management, and other team operations.
  • Assist with team travel, including safely driving passenger vans with student-athletes to away games, practices, team events, and other approved athletic department activities.
  • Help organize and supervise practices, workouts, recovery sessions, film sessions, contests, team meetings, and program activities.
  • Assist with video exchange, scouting, film review and other match-analysis responsibilities in accordance with NWAC guidelines.
  • Create, contribute to, and participate in fundraising efforts that support the women's soccer program and enhance the student-athlete experience.
  • Help build positive relationships with campus partners, families, alumni, donors, community members, and supporters of Clark College Women's Soccer.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, supervision, and operation of summer camps, ID clinics, recruiting events, and other program activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in soccer at the collegiate level preferred
  • Red Cross Standard First Aid Certification/CPR OR ability to obtain upon offer of employment
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license. Clean driving record.

DATE: Starting August 1, 2026
STATUS: Part Time Coaching Position
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/Head Coach
SALARY: $4200 (paid out Aug 1 - Nov 15)
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated on a yearly basis at the conclusion of the sport season.
