VANCOUVER, Wash. — The Clark women's soccer team put together one of its most complete performances of the season Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 4–0 conference win over Green River at Kim Christensen Field.
The Penguins controlled possession from the opening whistle and outshot the Gators 37–1, applying steady pressure across both halves.
Freshman forward Lainey Haden powered Clark out to an early lead, striking twice before halftime with goals in the 39th and 41st minutes. Bridget Hopper and Bella Rodriguez assisted on the finishes, as Clark entered the break ahead 2–0.
The momentum continued immediately after the restart, when Zaiah Menlove buried a third goal in the 49th minute — her second of the season — to push the margin to 3–0. Midfielder Isabel McCauley put the match out of reach in the 58th minute with a clean strike for her third goal of the year.
Defensively, Clark's back line was nearly flawless, allowing just one shot on frame. Goalkeepers Ella Lulich and Jessica Garcia Cruz combined for the clean sheet, with Lulich making the lone save required in the first half.
Clark also generated nine corner kicks and spent extended stretches in the attacking third, showcasing both depth and pace as 19 Penguins saw the field.
With the victory, Clark improves to 5-4-3 overall (5-4-3 NWAC) and continues to tighten its positioning in the playoff race heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
The penguins return to their home pitch Saturday, for Sophomore day vs Lower Columbia. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00PM.
