VANCOUVER, Wash. – Clark College Track & Field is excited to announce that Freshman Jake Beck has signed to further his academic and athletic career at Saint Martin's University. SMU, located in Lacey, Washington, is a Division II program that competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

The Saints are gaining one of the top distance track athletes in the Clark College season. The Kelso, Washington native and graduate of Kelso High School has enjoyed an excellent Spring with the Penguins after sitting out the Fall. On the track, Beck has competed in a wide range of events and had success in all of them. In his best three events, the 800, the 1500 and the 5K, he was able to meet the NWAC Qualifying Standard and ranks top ten in the conference in each. At the NWAC Championships, Beck will be one of the favorites in the 5K where he ranks fourth overall and will be pushing for the title.
