PORTLAND, OR — The Clark College track and field teams turned in a strong all-around performance over the weekend, highlighted by multiple event wins, school records, and a wave of personal bests across both the men's and women's squads.
On the men's side, Clark delivered one of its most complete meet performances of the season, led by standout efforts in the sprints, hurdles, relays, and throws. The 400-meter group set the tone early, with Koynn Williamdyke winning the event in 48.81 seconds, followed closely by teammate Max Ensinger in second at 49.25. Williamdyke also added a strong runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking 52.85, while Ensinger doubled back to capture the 110-meter hurdles title in 14.77 seconds.
Clark's relay teams continued the momentum. The 4x100 squad of Chris Garnett, Seth Arnett, Julian Johnson, and Ian Ebinger placed sixth in 42.92, while the 4x400 relay closed the meet with a standout second-place finish in 3:20.31, showcasing depth and strong late-race execution.
In the field events, Nico Valdez highlighted the throws group with a season-best 44.80 meters in the discus and a personal-best 43.65 in the hammer throw. Luke Livengood added a strong fourth-place finish in the javelin at 52.18 meters (personal best), while Taeven Hill contributed a personal-best 14.06 meters in the triple jump. On the track, Chris Garnett led the sprint group with a solid double in the 100 (11.22) and 200 meters (22.07, season best), while Jordan Morales and multiple teammates added personal records across sprint events.
Distance performances were steady across the board, with improvements from Evan Hollis (2:02.02 in the 800 and 17:46.58 in the 5000) and Erik Hardy, who posted a personal-best 37:00.19 in the 10,000 meters. Dekota Houfek also broke the 10-minute barrier in the steeplechase with a 9:57.45 personal best.
The women's team also delivered a strong showing, led by Nico Field, who earned a third-place finish in the 400 meters (58.61, personal best) and anchored Clark's 4x400 relay team to a fourth-place finish in 4:06.18. Field also placed fifth in the 200 meters with a personal-best 25.91.
Clark's sprint relays were a highlight on the women's side, with the 4x100 team of Jaden Frazier, Emily Peabody, Abby Mendoza, and Britney Ketels finishing second overall in 50.10 seconds.
In field events, Nora Herinckx led a strong multi-event performance with a third-place finish in the high jump (1.52m), along with personal-best marks in the javelin and steeplechase. Ella Lulich added a seventh-place discus finish (36.34m, personal best), while Sophia Martin contributed in both the discus and javelin. Abby Mendoza also posted a personal best in the long jump (4.62m).
Across the board, Clark athletes combined for dozens of personal records, highlighting continued development in both track and field disciplines. The meet also showcased growing depth, particularly in the sprints and throws, along with improved relay execution on both sides.
With strong individual performances and relay success, Clark College continues to build momentum as the season progresses, showing competitiveness in nearly every event group and consistent improvement week to week.
