Setter Taylee Wilson Commits to Benedictine University Mesa

Wilson leaves Clark with an incredible resume
Clark College volleyball is excited to announce that sophomore Taylee Wilson has committed to further her academic and athletic career at Benedictine University-Mesa.  Benedictine, an NAIA program located in Mesa, Arizona, is one of the top volleyball programs in the California Pacific Conference. The goal of competing at the four-year level has always been the plan according to Wilson. "I have known since committing to Clark that I wanted to move on and continue playing at a 4-Year University," she explained. "I have put completed countless hours of hard work into the transfer recruiting process and feel very blessed to be joining Benedictine University in the spring."

The Redhawks are gaining an incredible athlete with Wilson. As a freshman, Wilson split setting duties with Josie Becker and finished second on the team in assists while playing in all 23 matches. She also led the team in aces that season while appearing in more sets than any other Penguin.

This season as the lone setter, Wilson has thrived. She has once again appeared in every match and has recorded a school record 740 assists. She currently ranks sixth in the NWAC in assists and seventh in assists per set. Also a threat on the service line, Wilson leads the team with 43 aces, which is third all-time in Clark history for a single season.

For her career, Wilson broke the school record for assists with 1084. She is also currently ranked in the Clark top ten all time for careers aces as well with 60, and is closing in on the school record of 63 which was set in 2019.

Now it's on to Benedictine, a place that Wilson is very excited to be joining. "I was leaning toward 'BenU' because of their academic program and the positive conversations I had with the coach, but when I visited and was able to witness first-hand the bond between the team, that sold it for me. I'm so excited to join such a positive and competitive team to continue my volleyball career," said Wilson.

Congratulations Taylee! Thank you for everything you have done for Clark. We wish you all the best at BU! Go Redhawks!
