VANCOUVER, Wash. - The NWAC Track & Field championships were held at Mount Hood Community College on Monday and Tuesday. Many penguins earned their spots on the podiums, with two individual champion crowned.
Freshman,
Jasmine Bates, won the 800 meter race with a time of 2:20.46 outrunning the second place finisher by over 2 seconds. Freshman
Brianna Morrell won the 400 meter race with a PR in a photo finish time of 59.28, beating Lizbeth Soto from Spokane (59.32).

The men's team finished the meet with a combined 32 points finishing 8th overall. The women's team finished the meet with 111 points sharing the third place title with Southwestern Oregon Community College.

This season saw much success for the track and field program under first-year head coach Owen Frasier. Multiple student-athletes earning their way into the record books with top 10 times for Clark College. And every member of the team met requirements to be able to compete in the NWAC Championship meet. With a roster full of first-year student-athletes, there is plenty of excitement with what next year could bring to both track and field programs.
