Lacie Westervelt commits to Cal State University, San Bernardino

L WesterveltVANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College Track and Field is excited to announce that Sophomore, Lacie Westervelt (Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, Vancouver, WA), has committed to further her academic and athletic career at Cal State University, San Bernardino. CSUSB is one of the top NCAA Division II programs in the CCAA Conference and NCAA West Region.

CSUSB is gaining a superstar in Westervelt, who is just starting to meet her potential after not competing in track at all during high school.  Last season as a Freshman, Westervelt earned First Team All-Southern Region in both the 400 hurdles and as a part of the 1600 meter relay team. She went on to finish fourth in the 400 hurdles and the NWAC Championships to earn NWAC All-Conference honors on top of NWAC All-American recognition as a part of the 1600 meter relay.  This year as a Sophomore, Lacie reached even higher. She dabbled in the 400 meter relay and helped Clark to an All-Time Top 10 performance during the season. She was once again named First Team All-Southern Region in the 400 hurdles, but really shined at the NWAC Championships the following week. At NWACs, Westervelt earned NWAC All-American honors in the 400 hurdles with a personal best time of 1:06.67 before helping the Clark 1600 meter relay team to an NWAC Championship with one of the ten fastest times in Clark history.

Congratulations Lacie! Thank you for everything you have done for Clark. We're excited for your next step!
