VANCOUVER, Wash. – Clark College Track and Field is excited to announce that Sophomore
Jaelyn Sayler has committed to further her academic and athletic career at Portland State University. PSU, located in Portland, Oregon, is a Division I program that competes in the Big Sky Conference.
The Vikings are getting the top thrower in the Clark College program with Sayler. The Vancouver, Washington native and graduate of Skyview High School has made huge improvements in her two seasons at Clark. As a freshman, Sayler finished top ten in the Southern Region in both the shot put and the discus, before qualifying for the NWAC Championships finishing thirteenth overall in the shot. This season, Sayler set the Clark College indoor record in the shot with a mark of 37'6" during the winter. Sayler carried over the momentum to the Spring as she finished top eight in the discus at the Southern Region Championships with a personal best throw of 106'9" and won the Regional in the shot with a personal best throw of 37'0". Jaelyn heads into the NWAC Championships as a qualifier in both events and is ranked fifth in the shot put with a great possibility of earning All-Conference.
Congratulations Jaelyn! Thank you for everything you have done for Clark. We with you all the best at Portland State! Go Vikings!
