Track and FieldTrack and Field highlighted the three spring sports this weekend by qualifying 14 student-athletes to the NWAC championships at the Linfield Erik Anderson Memorial Icebreaker meet in McMinnville, OR.
Top Performers were:
Olivia Rose (Fr) – Won the triple jump with a jump of 10.85m / NWAC Qualifying Standard 10.50m
Tupre Witcliff (Fr) – 2
nd place with a jump of 1.96 meters / NWAC Qualifying Standard 1.87m
Tayler Cearley (Fr) - 41:06.76 10,000 Meter Run / NWAC Qualifying Standard 44:10.43
Sam Garvin (Fr) – 4:04.85 1500 meters / NWAC Qualifying Standard 4:07.15
Alanni Wingert (So) – 2:24.66 800 meters / NWAC Qualifying Standard 2:26.67
SoftballSoftball opened up their season at a crossover up in Lacey, WA. The Penguins went 1-3 with their only win coming against Highline College with an 8-4 victory. Clark started the weekend off with a 5-6 loss to Skagit Valley. Up next they had to face Bellevue College where they fell 12-4. The next day after beating highline they eventually fell to Centralia College 10-6.
Clark is back in action Wednesday March 9
th at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. again Olympic.
BaseballAfter beating the Concordia University JV team 12-3 the baseball team travelled to Walla Walla this weekend to play a couple double headers. Their first opponent was Walla Wall were they lost both (0-2), (9-10). On Sunday they traveled to Pasco, WA where they faced Columbia Basin where they also lost both (10-5), and (9-6).
The Penguins will try and right the ship when they play a series of games at home this weekend against Pierce on Saturday March 12
th (first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.), and then Everett on Sunday March 13
th (first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.).
