VANCOUVER, WA - Clark College put together a complete offensive showcase and held off a late push to sweep a doubleheader against Tacoma on April 10, winning 15–5 and 10–7.
The opener saw Clark erupt early and often, using a relentless offensive approach to overwhelm Tacoma. Clark jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the first inning behind RBI contributions from Taddeo Ituarte, Kobin Mullins, and Kaedon Cruse.
After Tacoma battled back to tie the game, Clark delivered the decisive blow in the fourth inning. DJ Ringenbach drove in a run to start a five-run surge, and Caden Taylor broke things open with a three-run double. Ituarte followed with an RBI double as Clark quickly built an 8–4 advantage.
The Penguins didn't let up, adding five more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Taylor led the charge with three hits and five RBIs, while Ituarte added three RBIs of his own. Cruse and Ringenbach also drove in multiple runs as Clark piled up 15 runs on nine hits.
On the mound, Kenneth Hall delivered a complete-game effort, allowing just one earned run over seven innings despite several defensive errors behind him.
Game 2 tested Clark's resilience.
Tacoma came out strong, scoring twice in the first inning and adding another on a solo home run in the third to take a 3–0 lead. But Clark answered in the bottom half, as Jase Pashales launched a two-run home run to spark the offense.
Clark gradually chipped away before taking control in the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, Pashales delivered again with an RBI single, and Kobin Mullins followed with a walk to force in another run. Kaedon Cruse then broke the game open with a two-run single, capping a five-run inning that gave Clark an 8–3 lead.
Pashales continued his standout performance in the seventh, ripping a two-run double to extend the lead to 10–4. He finished the game with three hits and five RBIs, powering Clark's offense in the nightcap.
Tacoma mounted a late rally, scoring three runs in the eighth inning, but Clark's pitching held firm down the stretch. Garrett Maunu earned the win with over seven innings of work, and Trig Berens closed the door to secure the save.
Across the doubleheader, Clark's offense proved to be the difference-maker. The Penguins combined for 25 runs and showed depth throughout the lineup, consistently delivering in key moments.
