Clark College put together a dominant defensive performance and rode a big night from Emily Peabody to a convincing 72–43 victory over Portland.
Peabody powered the Penguins with a game-high 32 points and a double-double, shooting 14 of 30 from the field while pulling down 13 rebounds. Her presence in the paint and ability to score through contact set the tone as Clark steadily built separation throughout the game.
The Penguins' defense was the story, holding Portland to just 25.4 percent shooting from the floor and forcing 26 turnovers. Clark also completely shut down the perimeter, as Portland went 0 for 17 from three-point range.
Mia Hicks-Oliver delivered an all-around performance, finishing with 14 points, five assists, and an eye-catching eight steals. Reaiah Hall contributed across the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals, helping Clark control the tempo on both ends.
Clark also won the battle on the glass, out rebounding Portland 42–40, including 14 offensive boards that created consistent second-chance opportunities. Ashley Serna added six points and seven rebounds, while Yazmin Rios chipped in nine points and three assists to provide balance in the lineup.
Off the bench, Alex Rosenbaum gave Clark a spark with six assists and three steals, helping the Penguins maintain pressure defensively and keep the offense moving.
With the win, Clark showcased its depth, defensive intensity, and ability to control the game from start to finish, turning in a complete performance against Portland. They improve to 5-10 overall and 1-1 in South Region play.
