Coos Bay, OR - Clark College women's basketball leaned on toughness, rebounding, and defensive pressure to earn a 74–63 victory over Southwestern Oregon.
The Penguins controlled the glass and forced turnovers throughout the contest, finishing with a 39–47 rebounding edge and 18 steals to disrupt the Lakers' offensive rhythm. Clark also lived at the free-throw line, getting there 35 times and using that pressure to maintain control down the stretch.
Mia Hicks-Oliver led the way with a strong all-around performance, scoring 20 points while pulling down nine rebounds and adding three steals. Reaiah Hall was a spark on both ends, finishing with 15 points and a game-high six steals, repeatedly turning defense into scoring opportunities.
Emily Peabody anchored the interior with a double-double, posting 16 points and 12 rebounds while battling through contact all night. Yazmin Rios provided a key perimeter presence, knocking down three three-pointers on her way to 13 points and nine rebounds.
April Cruz helped steady the offense off the bench with seven points and five assists, while Alex Rosenbaum chipped in six rebounds and defensive energy in reserve minutes.
Clark overcame a cold shooting night by outworking Southwestern Oregon in the paint and creating extra possessions, finishing with 17 offensive rebounds. The Penguins' defensive intensity held the Lakers to 30 percent shooting at the free-throw line and forced 29 turnovers, sealing the win.
