PORTLAND, OR — Clark College used a balanced offensive attack and a strong presence on the glass to pull away late and secure an 88–79 victory over Clackamas on Wednesday night.
The Penguins placed four players in double figures and shot an efficient 45.2 percent from the field, outworking Clackamas inside and controlling the boards, 38–29.
Sophomore guard Ari Richardson led all scorers with 23 points, adding eight rebounds and six assists while knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Richardson set the tone offensively and delivered key baskets during a decisive second-half stretch.
Noah Tostovrsnik was dominant in the paint, finishing with 19 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for a double-double. His five offensive boards created multiple second-chance opportunities and helped Clark maintain momentum whenever Clackamas threatened to close the gap.
Forward Tristan Pratt added 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting and contributed on the defensive end with two steals and a block, while Micah Gentry chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds from the guard spot.
Clark's depth also played a key role. Marcell Roberts provided a spark off the bench with seven points on 3-of-4 shooting, and Jaydon Hall added six points, three assists, and steady ball-handling in limited minutes.
Clackamas was paced by Connor Oertel, who scored 22 points and got to the free-throw line 12 times, while Colton Blackham added 17 points and six assists. The Cougars stayed within striking distance thanks to 37.5 percent shooting from three-point range, but Clark's rebounding edge and ball movement proved to be the difference.
The Penguins finished with 19 assists on 33 made baskets and converted 16-of-19 from the free-throw line, sealing the game down the stretch.
Clark College extended it's win streak to four games and improved to 6-1 in West Region play. They remain a half game ahead of Umpqua for first place in the Region and have earned a top ten NWAC ranking.
