VANCOUVER, Wash. – Clark College men's soccer continued its undefeated start to the 2025 season with a commanding 4–2 victory over Centralia College on Saturday afternoon at Kim Christiansen Field. The Penguins struck early and often, building a three-goal first-half lead and never looking back.
Hulises Najera wasted little time getting Clark on the board, scoring in just the 3rd minute off a corner from Julio Mondragon. Moments later, Hakim Keita doubled the advantage with his first goal of the year. Just before halftime, Isaiah Bunda capped off the dominant opening frame with a strike that sent Clark into the break up 3–0.
Centralia showed fight after the interval, pulling one back through Mario Silva Gutierrez in the 49th minute. But the Penguins responded with poise. Pablo Barbosa-Sanchez restored the three-goal cushion in the 60th minute, again assisted by Mondragon, who tallied two helpers on the day.
Gutierrez netted his second for Centralia late in the match, but the outcome had long been decided.
The Penguins out shot the Trailblazers 23–11, with 15 shots on frame. Goalkeepers Patrick Murphy, Luciano Alvarado, and Glenn Kolibas combined for three saves. Defensively, Clark weathered a physical match that saw Centralia collect seven yellow cards and one red.
With the win, Clark improves to 4-0-3 overall and 4-0-3 in NWAC play, while Centralia drops to 1-8-0 (1-4-0). The Penguins remain among the top contenders in the conference, showcasing both attacking depth and defensive grit.
Clark will look to extend its unbeaten run when it returns to league play next week in a road contest against Tacoma at 2pm.
