Clark Shuts Out Pierce 3–0, Extends Unbeaten Start

LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Clark College men's soccer continued its strong start to the season with a convincing 3–0 road victory over Pierce on Wednesday afternoon at Heritage Field. The Penguins (3-0-3 NWAC) controlled possession from the opening whistle, piling up 19 shots while limiting the Raiders (0-9-2, 0-5-1 NWAC) to just two attempts.

Clark wasted no time getting on the board. In the 5th minute, Pablo Barbosa-Sanchez finished off a setup from Julio Mondragon to give the Penguins an early 1–0 lead. The advantage held through halftime as Clark's back line and goalkeeper Luciano Alvarado snuffed out Pierce's limited chances.

The Penguins doubled their lead in the 53rd minute when defender Jon Walczyk found the net, assisted by Ian Catarina-Cruz. Just over 12 minutes later, Akeem Archer sealed the match with Clark's third goal, slotting home a finish off a feed from Matt Browning.

Alvarado made one save to secure the shutout, with Clark's defense standing tall in front of him. The Penguins also forced Pierce into nine fouls and three yellow cards, keeping the Raiders on their heels throughout the match.

Clark's balanced attack saw three different players score, and three others record assists, underscoring the team's depth and unselfish play.

With the win, the Penguins remain unbeaten and continue to sit near the top of the NWAC standings. They will look to carry the momentum into their next matchup as conference play heats up.
