VANCOUVER, Wash. -
Game 1 - Behind a combined pitching effort from
Tyler Ramelli and
Travis Gibson with timely offensive execution, the Clark College Penguins rolled to a convincing 7–1 win over Grays Harbor on Saturday afternoon.
The right-handed duo on the mound didn't walk a batter and needed just 125 pitches to navigate 37 batters, keeping Grays Harbor's offense off balance with precision and poise.
The Penguins wasted no time backing them up. In the bottom of the first, Andrew Israel sparked the offense with a leadoff single and came around to score on a bases-loaded walk to Kaiden Hernandez. Jase Pashales followed with a sac fly to left, plating Rylan Taguchi to give Clark an early 2–0 lead.
Clark added to its lead in the third when Evan McGuire drove in Quentin Anguay on a fielder's choice, and then broke the game open in the fourth. With the bases loaded and two outs, McGuire delivered again — this time with a booming double that cleared the bases, scoring Hernandez, Anguay, and Taguchi to make it 6–0.
Grays Harbor scratched across their lone run in the sixth, but Tyler Ramelli calmly worked out of trouble to prevent further damage.
The Penguins tacked on one final run in the seventh when Hernandez reached on a fielder's choice to score Israel for his second RBI of the day.
McGuire finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs, while Israel reached base twice and scored twice. Taguchi showed remarkable discipline at the plate, drawing three walks and scoring twice, while Trevin Long quietly had a three-hit day from the nine-spot.
Clark's defense also shined, turning multiple double plays and limiting Grays Harbor's chances with clean execution across the infield.

Game 2 - Another game, another statement. Clark College rode a massive fifth-inning rally and a strong pitching performance from Luke Woolcott to secure a 9–2 win over Grays Harbor in Game Two of the series on Friday.
Woolcott was sharp from the start, working six solid innings and allowing just one earned run on eight hits. The right-hander struck out five, walked two, and showed composure in pressure situations before handing the ball to Travis Gibson, who closed out the seventh with a clean inning and one punchout.
The Penguins' offense didn't waste time getting on the board. A fielder's choice by Trevin Long plated the first run in the second inning, followed by a bases-loaded walk from Kobin Mullins in the third to give Clark a 2–0 edge.
Grays Harbor cut the lead in half in the top of the fifth, but Clark responded with a monster bottom half of the inning — one that proved decisive.
What started as a modest inning quickly turned into chaos for Grays Harbor. Mullins laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to bring home Kaiden Hernandez, and from there the floodgates opened. A throwing error by the Grays third baseman allowed another run to score, followed by a wild pitch that brought Trevin Long across the plate.
Then, Rylan Taguchi broke it open with a clutch two-run double to right-center, scoring Andrew Israel and Carson Boyko. Quentin Anguay capped the seven-run outburst with an RBI single that made it 8–1. Clark would add one more run in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk by Israel.
On offense, Taguchi led the way with a two-run double and an RBI walk, while Anguay reached base three times, swiped a bag, and drove in a run. Mullins contributed with two RBIs and a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt. Long drove in two as well, both on balls that never left the infield but forced the Grays defense into costly mistakes.
In total, Clark scored nine runs on eight hits while drawing nine walks and capitalizing on three Grays Harbor errors.
With the win, the Penguins complete a sweep of the day's doubleheader and continue to show why they're one of the most well-rounded squads in the region. Solid pitching, opportunistic hitting, and relentless pressure on the base paths are quickly becoming Clark's calling cards.
