CENTRALIA, Wash. - Game 1 - Clark College's softball team put on a dominant display against Centralia in a 7-2 victory at Bob Peters Field on March 28, 2025. Led by an outstanding performance from
Ashley Griffith, Clark's offense proved too potent for Centralia to handle.
The game started quietly with both teams scoreless through two innings, but Clark broke through in the third inning. Griffith's impressive hitting ignited the scoreboard with a towering home run, driving in two runs and setting the tone for Clark's offensive surge.
Griffith continued to excel throughout the game, adding a double and a triple to her home run, finishing the day with 4 RBIs. Her offensive prowess was complemented by solid pitching from Lily Ferres, who held Centralia to just 2 runs on 8 hits over 7 innings.
Clark extended their lead in the fifth and sixth innings, capitalizing on Centralia's defensive lapses and timely hitting. Promise Bond and Rylee Purdom contributed crucial RBIs, ensuring Clark's lead was secure heading into the final innings.
Despite a late rally attempt from Centralia in the fifth inning, where they managed to score 2 runs, Clark's defense held firm, preventing any further scoring opportunities.

Game 2 -Â Trailing 2-0 heading into the seventh inning, Clark College delivered a dramatic four-run rally to defeat Centralia 4-2, earning the sweep on the road.
Clark struggled offensively for much of the game against Centralia's starter E. Hoffmeist, managing just two hits through six innings. However, their persistence paid off in the final frame. With one out, Gabriela Ventura worked a walk before Griffith launched a clutch two-run homer to tie the game. The momentum shift continued as Sophia Lawrence drew a walk, followed by a double from Rylee Purdom. Promise Bond then delivered the decisive blow with a two-run triple, giving Clark a 4-2 lead.
Clark's pitcher, Delaney Bollman, was stellar on the mound, tossing a complete game while allowing just two earned runs on five hits. She worked efficiently, scattering four walks and striking out five in her first win of the season. Despite Centralia scoring two runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single from E. Hoffmeist and a sacrifice fly by G. Huber, Bollman held firm, shutting them down the rest of the way.
Griffith's standout performance included reaching base three times, scoring twice, and driving in two crucial runs. Ventura also contributed by reaching base three times and scoring a run. Purdom and Bond provided the late-game heroics with extra-base hits that sealed the comeback victory.
With the win, Clark improves to 4-12, while Centralia drops to 7-8. Clark will look to build on their momentum as they host Grays Harbor Saturday, March 28th at Raines Field. FIrst pitch is scheduled for 12:00pm
