Vancouver, WA - In a thrilling match up at O'Connell Sports Center, Clark College emerged victorious over Southwestern Oregon with a final score of 65-61. The Penguins managed to maintain their lead throughout a tightly contested game that saw both teams battling fiercely until the final buzzer.

Freshman, Ella Botnar led the charge for Clark with a game-high 22 points, showcasing her scoring prowess with 8 field goals, including a crucial 3-pointer. She was well-supported by Emily Peabody and Jayda Jackson, each contributing 13 points to the team's tally.

Southwestern Oregon's efforts were spearheaded by Bree Turner, who poured in 22 points, shooting 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. Despite Turner's sharpshooting, Southwestern Oregon struggled to find consistent scoring opportunities, shooting 22.4% from the field overall.

The game remained close throughout, with multiple lead changes and tied scores, highlighting the competitive nature of both teams. Clark's ability to capitalize on second chances and points off turnovers proved decisive in securing the win, despite Southwestern Oregon's strong defensive efforts.

With this victory, Clark moves to a 13-14 record overall and 5-9 in conference play, while Southwestern Oregon falls to 6-20 overall and 2-13 in conference match ups. Both teams displayed resilience and determination, making for an exciting afternoon of college basketball action in Vancouver.

Next up the women will host Linn Benton (14-12, 6-8 NWAC) on Monday, February 24th in a make-up game from last Saturday.
