Clark Overpowers Mt. Hood in 86-66 Road Victory

GRESHAM, Ore. — The Clark Penguins showcased their offensive firepower Wednesday night, defeating the Mt. Hood Saints 86-66 on the road.

Clark (17-6, 9-2) built an early lead with a strong first half, taking a 38-35 advantage into the break before dominating the second half with a 48-31 scoring margin. The Penguins capitalized on their size and efficiency inside, outscoring Mt. Hood (5-19, 1-10) 62-26 in the paint.

Jackson Esary led Clark with a game-high 23 points, hitting 11-of-21 from the field, while Theo McMillan delivered an all-around performance with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals. Terrell Moorer Jr. added 15 points and 8 rebounds, helping Clark control the glass with a 49-28 rebounding advantage.

Mt. Hood kept the game competitive early, led by Aiden Dunne's 15 points and 4 assists, while Gianni Altman contributed 16 points off the bench, knocking down four three-pointers. However, turnovers plagued the Saints, as they committed 19 giveaways leading to 19 Clark points.

Despite shooting a respectable 48.2% from the field, Mt. Hood struggled to match Clark's defensive intensity, as the Penguins racked up 12 steals and limited the Saints to just five free throw attempts on the night.

Clark will look to continue their win streak as they look to host Linn Benton (10-15, 5-7) on Saturday, February 15th at the O'Connell Sports Center.
