Penguins Drop Close Game to Bellevue

VANCOUVER - Clark College battled for all 40 minutes but came up just short in a hard-fought 71–66 loss to Bellevue, leaning on balanced scoring and strong interior play to stay within striking distance to the final buzzer.

Emily Peabody delivered a standout performance for the Penguins, finishing with a game-high 23 points while adding 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Peabody was efficient at the rim and steady at the free-throw line, helping Clark keep pace during multiple Bellevue runs.

Mia Hicks-Oliver followed with 19 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and pulling down eight rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Her perimeter shooting and defensive activity sparked Clark throughout the night, particularly as the Penguins tried to close the gap late.

Reaiah Hall added 13 points and three assists, while Yazmin Rios chipped in seven points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Clark also got a strong defensive effort from Ashley Serna, who finished with three blocks and four rebounds, anchoring the paint.

Clark shot 32.4 percent from the field but stayed competitive by attacking the basket and converting 17 of 22 free throws. The Penguins also held Bellevue to 20 percent shooting from beyond the arc, limiting perimeter damage and forcing contested looks.

Despite the loss, Clark showed resilience and balance, placing three players in double figures and competing wire-to-wire. The Penguins will look to build on that effort as they continue non-conference play.
