BELLVUE, WA — Clark College used a dominant effort on the glass and balanced scoring to secure a 75–63 victory over Northwest Indian College on Saturday in the first game of the Bellevue Holiday Tournament.
The Penguins controlled the paint throughout the afternoon, out rebounding NWIC 51–32 and turning second-chance opportunities into steady offense. Clark's interior presence proved decisive, especially in the second half as the Penguins gradually stretched a close game into a double-digit win.
Emily Peabody led all scorers with a game-high 27 points while adding a massive 17 rebounds for a double-double performance. Peabody went 9-of-20 from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line (7-for-7), anchoring Clark on both ends of the floor.
Mia Hicks-Oliver added another double-double, finishing with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Her activity inside helped Clark win the rebounding battle and control the tempo, while Reaiah Hall chipped in 18 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers and converting 6-of-9 free throws.
Yazmin Rios contributed 10 rebounds and six points, giving Clark three players with double-digit boards, while Ashley Serna provided key defensive minutes and seven rebounds.
Clark shot 36.7 percent from the field and an efficient 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, but the biggest difference came at the free-throw line. The Penguins earned 37 attempts and converted 25, allowing them to pull away late despite NWIC's perimeter shooting.
With the win, Clark College continues to build momentum, showing depth, toughness on the boards, and multiple scoring options as the season progresses.
