Clark College Battles Lower Columbia, Comes up Short 77–67

PORTLAND — Clark College went toe-to-toe with Lower Columbia for much of the night but couldn't keep pace after halftime, falling 77–67 on Wednesday evening at PCC–Cascade.

The Penguins matched the Red Devils shot for shot in the opening half, closing the first 20 minutes locked in a 30–30 tie. Clark's balanced attack and work on the glass kept the game even, but Lower Columbia found its rhythm offensively in the second half, outscoring Clark 47–37 to pull away.

Ari Richardson led Clark with a game-high 22 points, knocking down four three-pointers and shooting 7-for-12 from the floor. Richardson consistently provided a spark on the perimeter while also adding three assists and two steals in 37 minutes.

Clark also received strong interior play from Noah Tostovrsnik and Tristan Pratt. Tostovrsnik posted 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line eight times. Pratt added 16 points and 10 rebounds, giving the Penguins a second double-double effort and anchoring the paint on both ends of the floor.

Zion Milare chipped in 10 points, including a pair of three-pointers, as Clark finished the night shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc. The Penguins also went 13-for-17 from the free-throw line, keeping them within striking distance throughout the second half.

Despite the loss, Clark showed resilience against a Lower Columbia team that hit 13 three-pointers and got 20 points from Noah Schow and 16 from Shane Douma-Sanchez. The Penguins stayed competitive on the boards, trailing by just two rebounds (33–31), but couldn't overcome the Red Devils' perimeter shooting down the stretch.

Clark will look to build on its strong first-half performance and balanced scoring as it prepares for its next contest.
