BREMERTON, Wash. — Clark College showed resilience and balance on the road Thursday night, but Olympic's depth and early surge proved too much as the Penguins fell 79–64 to the Rangers.
Clark (2–7) trailed by 17 after the opening quarter, but the Penguins never backed down, trimming the deficit and matching Olympic basket for basket over the final three periods. Clark outscored the Rangers 41–39 over the second half, highlighted by a strong third-quarter push.
Sophomore Mia Hicks-Oliver led all scorers with a standout performance, pouring in 24 points while attacking the rim and drawing contact. Hicks-Oliver went an impressive 12-of-15 from the free-throw line and added 11 rebounds for a double-double, anchoring Clark on both ends of the floor.
Emily Peabody continued her consistent play with 14 points and 10 rebounds, giving Clark a second double-double on the night. Peabody controlled the glass and provided steady interior scoring as the Penguins fought to close the gap.
Reaiah Hall chipped in 11 points, knocking down a pair of three-pointers, while Alex Rosenbaum added nine points and handled primary ball-handling duties throughout the game. Clark won the rebounding battle early and finished with 36 total rebounds, including 13 offensive boards, creating multiple second-chance opportunities.
Despite shooting just under 30 percent from the field, Clark stayed competitive by getting to the free-throw line, converting 19-of-31 attempts, and forcing Olympic into 17 turnovers.
Clark will look to build on its strong interior play and defensive energy as the Penguins continue non-conference action later this month.
