Clark College put together one of its most complete performances of the season Sunday afternoon, rolling to a 75–64 road victory over Green River College at the Fred Meyer Gymnasium in Auburn.
The Penguins were powered by a dominant outing from Emily Peabody, who poured in a game-high 39 points on 16-of-30 shooting while adding 11 rebounds to secure a double-double. Peabody controlled the game from start to finish, scoring at all three levels and anchoring a Clark offense that finished with 50 points in the paint
Clark set the tone early, jumping out to a 17–13 lead after the first quarter and widening the gap with a strong second period. The Penguins outscored the Gators 25–14 in the second quarter, using aggressive defense and interior scoring to take a 42–27 halftime advantage.
Defensively, Clark forced Green River into tough looks all night, holding the Gators to 31.9 percent shooting from the field and just 7-of-38 from three-point range. The Penguins' pressure resulted in 25 forced turnovers, leading to easy scoring chances on the other end.
Alongside Peabody, Mia Hicks-Oliver filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two assists, while playing all 40 minutes. April Cruz added a strong all-around performance with five steals, three assists and a block, helping Clark maintain control despite Green River's third-quarter push.
Green River cut into the lead in the third quarter, outscoring Clark 21–13, but the Penguins responded with a poised fourth quarter. Clark regained its rhythm offensively, scoring 20 points in the final frame to seal the win and prevent any late comeback.
Clark finished the game with a 51–43 rebounding advantage and shot 42.9 percent from the field, showcasing physicality and balance on both ends of the floor.
The win moves Clark to 2–5 on the season and provides a strong confidence boost as the Penguins continue their non-conference schedule.
