AUBURN, Wash. — Clark College stayed perfect on the young season Friday night, using a dominant second half and a standout performance from sophomore forward Tristan Pratt to secure a 69–62 win over Peninsula at Green River College.
Pratt was the anchor for the Penguins on both ends, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 9-of-16 from the field. He was relentless inside, scoring 12 of his points in the opening half before helping Clark take control after the break.
The Penguins trailed early as Peninsula opened the game on a 7–2 run, but Clark's defense kept the contest within reach. A three-pointer from Ari Richardson at the 13:21 mark helped swing the momentum, and from there, Clark steadily climbed back into the game. Richardson finished with 17 points, three steals, and a team-high three blocks, delivering crucial plays whenever the Penguins needed a spark.
Clark entered halftime ahead 30–27 and wasted little time taking over in the second half. A renewed defensive intensity led to 11 steals on the night, and the Penguins turned Peninsula's 19 turnovers into 21 points—a difference-maker in a tight contest.
Noah Tostovrsnik was another key contributor, scoring 13 points while pulling down six rebounds and going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line. Freshman guard Micah Gentry added six points, five assists, and three steals, giving Clark balance in the backcourt.
Clark's bench also stepped up, supplying 21 points, led by strong rebounding and hustle plays from Marcell Roberts (six rebounds) and valuable minutes from Jaydon Hall and Eli Bailey.
The Penguins outscored Peninsula 39–35 in the second half, building their largest lead—13 points—near the 10-minute mark and maintaining control despite a late surge by the Pirates.
With the win, Clark moves to 2–0 on the season and continues to showcase a balanced roster with the ability to score in the paint (34 points) and lock down defensively.
The Penguins return to action tomorrow looking to carry forward the momentum of a gritty, well-rounded victory.
