Big Bend Tops Clark 89-74

Auburn, WA- A strong second-half push wasn't enough for Clark College on Saturday afternoon, as the Penguins dropped a 89–74 decision to Big Bend at the Green River Crossover. Despite a tough first half, Clark delivered an inspired offensive surge after the break, highlighted by a big performance from freshman forward Tristan Pratt.

Pratt was nearly unstoppable, pouring in 33 points on 12-of-22 shooting while attacking the rim relentlessly and going 9-for-10 from the free-throw line. His five rebounds and two assists helped keep the Penguins within striking distance in the second half.

Clark found key contributions throughout the lineup. Zion Milare showcased his energy on both ends, finishing with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals in one of the most well-rounded stat lines of the day. Milare's defensive activity helped spark a pair of second-half runs that trimmed a once–double-digit deficit.

Off the bench, Marcell Roberts provided a valuable boost, scoring 8 points and pulling down 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. Freshman Jacob Nugus made the most of his time as well, knocking down a three and adding two more points at the line for 5 total.

The Penguins also saw solid efforts from their starting group. Micah Gentry contributed 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Noah Tostovrsnik controlled the glass with 9 rebounds to go with his 5 points. Ari Richardson added 3 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals, and Eli Bailey chipped in 3 points with a made three-pointer.

Clark struggled early as Big Bend shot over 56% from the field and knocked down 10 threes, creating separation the Penguins worked to close throughout the afternoon. Clark's grit was evident, however, as they won the rebounding battle 34–28 and hit an impressive 80.8% from the line (21-of-26).

Clark (2–1) returns to action later in the crossover looking to build on their second-half momentum and tighten the defensive pressure that fueled their comeback attempt.
