Vancouver, Wash. – October 3, 2025 — Clark College turned in a balanced, efficient effort on both sides of the net Friday night, defeating Chemeketa 3–1 (25–19, 25–23, 21–25, 25–23) in NWAC volleyball action. The Penguins improved to 6–13 overall and 2–4 in conference play behind a dominant performance from setter Taylee Wilson and standout hitting from Abigail Heberle and Kylie Miller.
Heberle led the Clark attack with 16 kills, hitting an impressive .275, while adding a service ace and a block for a team-high 17 points. Miller was a force at the net as well, tallying 8 kills, 6 solo blocks, and 2 block assists for 16 points.
Wilson orchestrated the offense to near perfection, handing out 37 assists while chipping in 5 kills on a .556 attack percentage, 4 service aces, and 8 digs. Her steady play helped the Penguins hit .173 as a team, including a match-best .303 in the decisive fourth set.
Defensively, Emelynn Cecil anchored Clark's back row with 36 digs, repeatedly keeping long rallies alive. Mia Hicks-Oliver added 12 kills and 6 digs, while Kim Saechao and Gabriela Sideris combined for 16 digs to limit Chemeketa's offense to a .177 hitting percentage.
Clark opened with two strong set wins before Chemeketa rallied in the third, taking advantage of a few Clark errors. But the Penguins regrouped in the fourth, using a balanced attack and timely defense to close out the match 25–23.
Clark finished with 46 kills, 8 aces, and 10 team blocks on the night. The victory marks a key conference win as the Penguins continue to build momentum heading into the second half of NWAC play.
