CENTRALIA, Wash. – A late goal from freshman forward Bella Rodriguez helped Clark College secure a 1–1 draw on the road Saturday afternoon at Bob Peters Field, as the Penguins continued their strong conference form behind a disciplined defensive showing and standout goalkeeping play.
Rodriguez broke through in the 88th minute, converting Clark's final push forward to give the Penguins a short-lived lead. The finish marked her team-leading tally and came as Clark capitalized on second-half momentum after generating four shots following the break. Centralia managed the equalizer just 26 seconds later, resulting in the final 1–1 scoreline.
Clark's attack produced six total shots, four on goal, led by Rodriguez (2 shots, 1 on goal, 1 goal), while Lainey Haden and Zaiah Menlove each generated pressure in the final third with quality chances on frame.
Goalkeeper Ella Lulich anchored the Penguins defensively, posting six saves, including five first-half stops to keep the match level through a heavy early offensive stretch from Centralia. The Clark back line — paced by full-match efforts from Gabriela Suarez-Luna, Jaleyah Pitre, and Madeline Johnson — held steady throughout, limiting Centralia to difficult angles and second-chance shots despite the host's 17 attempts.
Clark also showed resilience in set-piece defending and stayed compact through frequent lineup rotations. Isabel McCauley and Pitre contributed key minutes down the stretch as the midfield unit absorbed pressure while pushing Clark into transition opportunities that eventually led to the late breakthrough.
With the result, Clark moves to 4-4-3 overall and remains firmly in postseason contention as conference play enters its final stretch.
The Penguins return to action Wednesday as they host Green River at Kim Christensen Field. Kickoff is set for 4:00PM.
