Clark Opens Region Play with Loss on the Road at Lane

EUGENE, Ore. - In a high-intensity basketball showdown, Clark faced off against Lane (9-2, 0-0 in Eugene, Oregon. Despite a spirited performance by Clark, Lane emerged victorious with a final score of 101-82. However, the game was filled with notable achievements for Clark that showcased their determination and talent.

Leading the charge for Clark was Terrell Moorer Jr., who delivered an outstanding performance with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Moorer Jr. was a force on both ends of the court, playing a game-high 37 minutes and maintaining a relentless energy that kept Lane on their toes. His ability to score both inside and beyond the arc, coupled with his defensive tenacity, was a highlight for Clark.

Theo McMillan also stood out for Clark, contributing 21 points and 4 rebounds while shooting an impressive 42.9% from the field. His consistent scoring, especially during the second half, provided a much-needed offensive boost for the team.

Another notable contribution came from Zion Milare, who added 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. His energy and playmaking ability were crucial in keeping the game competitive.

While Clark ultimately fell short, their tenacity and individual performances were commendable. The team's effort on the boards, securing 37 rebounds, and their ability to score in the paint with 34 points demonstrated their resilience against a tough Lane squad.

Lane may have taken the win, but Clark's players left an indelible mark on the game with their spirited display and individual brilliance. Their performance underscores the potential and promise of this squad moving forward in the season.

Next up the penguins will host the Cougars of Clackamas (6-8, 0-1) on Wednesday, January 4th at home.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
