VANCOUVER, Wash. - The Clark College Penguins put together a dominant second-half performance to power past Chemeketa, securing an impressive 80-68 victory on the road Wednesday night.
Trailing by four at halftime, Clark erupted for 48 points in the second half while locking down defensively to outscore the Storm by 16. The Penguins were efficient on offense, shooting 44.1% from the field and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities with 11 points off turnovers.
Jackson Esary led the charge with 20 points, knocking down two three-pointers and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Terrell Moorer Jr. added 15 points and four rebounds, while
Beau Swett contributed 14 points, hitting three triples in the second half to help Clark pull away.
Anthony Sprauer was a force inside, securing a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.
Theo McMillan facilitated the offense with eight assists while adding seven rebounds and two steals.
Clark found success controlling the boards, outrebounding Chemeketa 38-30, and used their depth to their advantage, with 16 points coming from the bench. The Penguins also limited turnovers, committing just six compared to the Storm's 12.
With the win, Clark builds momentum heading into their next matchup as they continue their push in NWAC play.
