Evan Williams - Moving On Story

Penguin Runner Joins Waddle In the North

Evan Williams commits to Evergreen State College

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College Cross Country and Track is excited to announce that Sophomore, Evan Williams (Kelso HS, Kelso, WA), has signed to further his academic and athletic career at Evergreen State College. ESC, located in Olympia, Washington, is a program on the rise under new head coach Joel Pearson. Evan will be a solid addition to the Geoducks, just as he was in his two years as a Penguin.

Evergreen is gaining one of the most consistent student athletes the Penguins have had over the past two years. As a Freshman, Williams helped the Penguins to a second place finish at the Southern Region Championships where he finished 25th. This season, he improved his 8K time to 28:52 and was consistently under 30 minutes throughout the season. He capped it off with a 35th place finish at the NWAC Championships and was a big part of the team's top five overall finish at the event.

Penguin Head Coach Owen Frasier was excited to see Evan join the program at Evergreen State. "Evan has been such a joy to have in our program the past two seasons. He's a very mature kid who takes his running seriously and really strives to be his very best. He will be missed in our program, but we wish him all the very best at Evergreen!"

Congratulations Evan! Thank you for everything you have done for Clark. We're excited for your next step!
