VANCOUVER, Wash. - In a game that showcased the highs and lows of college basketball, Clark pulled off a remarkable comeback against Linn-Benton, clinching an 84-82 victory that left the home crowd roaring with excitement. The game, played at Clark's home court, saw the visitors dominating the first half before Clark mounted a stunning second-half surge to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
The first half belonged to Linn-Benton, with TJ Zimmermann leading the charge for the visiting team. Zimmermann's dominant performance, especially in the paint, seemed to give Linn-Benton a comfortable lead heading into halftime, with the scoreboard reading 45-31 in their favor. However, the game was far from over.
As the second half commenced, Clark emerged with renewed energy and determination. Led by a spirited performance from Keenan Coleman and sharpshooting from Brendan Beier, Clark steadily chipped away at Linn-Benton's lead. Despite their early struggles, Clark's resilience began to pay off as they found their rhythm and started to hit their shots.
The game reached a fever pitch in the closing minutes as both teams traded blows, each possession carrying immense weight. With just seconds left on the clock and the score tied, Clark managed to execute a critical play, securing posession in the final moments. The final buzzer sounded, signaling a stunning victory for Clark and heartbreak for Linn-Benton.
It was Clark's collective effort and never-say-die attitude that ultimately prevailed, with five players scoring in double-digits.
Next up, the men host Southwestern Oregon on Saturday, February 24th in what will be their final home game of the 23-24 season.
