VANCOUVER, Wash. - In a closely contested matchup at the O'Connell Sports Center, Clark triumphed over South Puget Sound with a final score of 93-87. The non-league game featured intense back-and-forth action, with both teams showcasing their offensive prowess and individual talent.
First Half Dominance by Clark
Clark came out strong in the first half, outscoring South Puget Sound 49-41. Leading the charge was Jackson Esary, who contributed 17 of his 25 points in the first half alone. His efficiency from the field (9-15 FG) and ability to score inside the paint set the tone early for the home team. Theo McMillan also played a significant role, recording 10 points and providing crucial assists.
South Puget Sound's Resilient Second Half
The visitors made adjustments during halftime, tightening their defense and spreading out their scoring. Cameron Lawson and Nehemiah Pollard were pivotal for South Puget Sound, combining for 42 points. Lawson was lethal from beyond the arc, sinking four 3-pointers, while Pollard excelled in the paint with key rebounds and putbacks.
Despite their effort, South Puget Sound couldn't fully bridge the gap. Clark's balanced scoring, with four players in double digits, and their ability to capitalize on turnovers (19 points off turnovers) proved decisive.
