VANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College secured a solid 98-88 victory over Treasure Valley in a thrilling basketball showdown on the road. The team's hot shooting, coupled with aggressive defense, was the key to their dominant performance. Clark's overall field goal shooting was an impressive 56.2%, while they also made key plays in every facet of the game, particularly on the boards, where they out-rebounded Treasure Valley 38 to 39.
The victory was a true team effort, with five players scoring in double figures. Junior forward Jackson Esary was the standout for Clark, scoring 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including a 3-point make. Esary also grabbed eight rebounds and played solid defense throughout the game, contributing to his team's control of the paint.
Not far behind, senior guard Theo McMillan poured in 20 points, hitting 9-of-17 from the field, and added eight rebounds and four assists. His scoring touch was crucial during key stretches of the game. Beau Swett also had a strong showing, tallying 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while grabbing two rebounds and providing a spark off the bench.
Clark's reserves also made significant contributions. Marcell Roberts came off the bench to score 6 points in 12 minutes, and Zion Milare chipped in with 10 points in 24 minutes of play. These performances helped maintain the team's offensive flow while giving the starters a chance to rest.
Despite shooting just 21.4% from three-point range (3-14), Clark's efficient shooting from inside the arc and at the free-throw line (59.1%) proved to be enough to overpower their opponents.
On the defensive side, Clark's defense was stifling, forcing Treasure Valley into 15 turnovers. While the home team had a slight edge in rebounding (39-38), Clark's tenacity on the boards, especially on the offensive glass, helped create second-chance opportunities.
