VANCOUVER, Wash. - The Clark College basketball team put on a stunning display of offense and defense Tuesday night, defeating Pacific University (Forest Grove) 102-77 in an impressive road win. With a fast-paced game that saw the Penguins dominate both ends of the court, Clark improved to 3-0 on the season.
From the tip-off, it was clear that Clark was firing on all cylinders. The team opened the game with high energy, scoring 59 points in the first half. Their aggressive offensive attack, led by standout performances from Jackson Esary and Beau Swett, overwhelmed the Pacific defense. Esary, who posted a game-high 21 points, displayed a sharp shooting touch and was relentless on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds. Swett also had a strong performance, finishing with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists.
The Penguins showed no signs of slowing down in the second half. Clark kept their foot on the gas, scoring 43 more points and showcasing exceptional ball movement with 25 assists on the night. Their ability to spread the ball around and find open shots contributed to their high shooting percentage—49.4% from the field and 50% from three-point range.
One of the highlights of the game came from Zion Milare, who added 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Theo McMillan chipped in with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. The balanced scoring attack and team-oriented play were key factors in the dominant performance.
Defensively, Clark was equally impressive. The team racked up 9 steals and blocked 2 shots, applying consistent pressure on Pacific throughout the game. Despite being out-rebounded by Pacific (60 to 26), Clark's aggressive defense and fast breaks led to plenty of opportunities on offense.
For Pacific, Eli Shibuya was a bright spot, contributing 11 points and 3 assists, while Darius Enshae scored 13 points and grabbed 1 rebound. Despite their efforts, the Boxers struggled with efficiency, shooting just 38.9% from the field and 26.9% from beyond the arc. Their inability to keep pace with Clark's fast offense ultimately sealed their fate.
After the win, Clark heads back home with their perfect record intact, ready to face their next opponent with momentum on their side. As the team continues to gel and improve, the outlook for the rest of the season is incredibly promising.
For now, though, Clark's players and coaches can take pride in a statement win that showcased their offensive firepower and defensive intensity. The Penguins are proving they are a team to watch this season.
Clark College (3-0) will be back tonight against the 1-1Â Centralia College, looking to continue their early season success.
