Clark Cruises to 77-55 Victory Over Centralia

Vancouver, WA – The Clark College basketball team remained undefeated with a commanding 77-55 victory over Centralia on Thursday evening. The Penguins (4-0) surged ahead early and never looked back, showcasing a well-balanced offensive attack and solid defense. Meanwhile, Centralia (0-2) struggled with shooting accuracy and could not recover after a tough first half.

Clark dominated the first half, outscoring Centralia 41-26. The Penguins' aggressive offense, led by Theo McMillan (18 points) and Jackson Esary (17 points), gave them a comfortable lead. McMillan, who shot 8-for-15 from the field, was instrumental in building the early cushion, contributing both inside and from the three-point line. Esary's performance also stood out, as he added 17 points on 7-of-19 shooting, despite some early shooting struggles.

For Centralia, Shay Brannon was the standout performer, finishing with 13 points and 9 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. However, despite his efforts, the Trailblazers were unable to find any consistent offensive rhythm. They shot just 28.1% from the field in the first half and had trouble converting from three-point range, finishing the game at a dismal 18.2%.

While Clark's offense was firing on all cylinders, the Penguins' defense was equally strong, forcing Centralia into 17 turnovers and holding them to just 55 points. Clark's fast break was efficient, but Centralia failed to capitalize on the opportunities that came their way.

The second half was more of the same, as Clark continued to build on their first-half advantage, outscoring Centralia 36-29. Terrell Moorer Jr. added 17 points, and Anthony Sprauer chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Clark's ability to maintain defensive pressure, combined with their balanced scoring, led to a comfortable 24-point victory.

Centralia's bench, led by Luke Brewer, provided some offensive sparks, as Brewer finished with 14 points. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the sharp shooting and depth of Clark. Lance Green, who struggled with foul trouble, added just 6 points, while Clay Morgan and Reilly McIlraith were limited to 5 points each.

Clark will look to maintain their undefeated streak when they travel to Portland, Oregon to take on Multnomah on the road, Saturday.
