In a commanding display of offensive prowess, Clark's soccer team delivered a resounding 10-0 victory over Pierce on Saturday. From the first whistle, Clark set the tempo and never looked back, showcasing relentless attacking play and clinical finishing throughout the match.
The scoring opened just before halftime when Milos Mavrak capitalized on a well-placed cross from Emmanuel Ruiz, giving Clark a 1-0 lead at the break. The second half saw an avalanche of goals as Clark's offense clicked into high gear.
Christian Silva started the scoring spree early in the second half, converting a pinpoint pass from Randy Valdivia. JP Warnell extended the lead shortly after with a clinical finish. Abraham Alvarez-Castro and Xavier Cuevas each added goals, including Cuevas' successful penalty kick.
The goal fest continued with Logan Puppo, Matthew Wagner, and Luke Stacy all finding the net, supported by assists from teammates who displayed exceptional teamwork and vision throughout the match. Randy Valdivia and Trenten Harker contributed multiple assists, highlighting their playmaking abilities.
Defensively, Clark maintained a solid presence, limiting Pierce to only two shots, both of which were handled capably by goalkeeper Jake Bilsborough and his defense. Bilsborough kept a clean sheet, making a crucial save early in the match to maintain Clark's momentum.
With this victory, Clark improves to a dominant 7-0-1 record, showcasing their potential as a force to be reckoned with in the league.
Next up, the penguins (7-0-1) will host Highline on Wednesday, October 9th. Highline comes into the match undefeated in league play as well (7-0-1). The result of the match will determine the top seed in league, heading into the second half of the season. Kickoff is set for 4:15pm at Kim Christensen field on the campus of Clark College.
