Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Clark Continues their undefeated streak with 3-0 victory over Pierce

On a brisk autumn evening at Clark College, the Clark Penguins continued their unbeaten streak, securing a decisive 3-0 victory against the Pierce Raiders. The win propels Clark to an impressive record of 12-0-1, while Pierce falls to 3-12-1, struggling to find form as the season winds down.

First Half: Clark's Early Dominance

The match kicked off with Clark immediately asserting control. Just 1 minute and 26 seconds in, JP Warnell found the back of the net, putting the Penguins ahead early with an assist from Abraham Alvarez-Castro. T

As the first half unfolded, Pierce struggled to generate offense, managing only four shots, with their best chance coming from Caiden Dodd, which was saved by goalkeeper Jake Bilsborough. Clark doubled their lead in the 13th minute when Warnell struck again, this time assisted by Alvarez-Castro once more.

Despite some promising moments, Pierce was unable to find their rhythm, ending the half without a goal and trailing 2-0.

Second Half: Clark Seals the Game

The second half began with Clark maintaining their momentum. Just eight minutes in, Matthew Wagner added a third goal for the Penguins, effectively sealing the match at 3-0.

Pierce's Ricky Ulloa had a commendable performance in goal, making six saves throughout the match and keeping the scoreline from getting out of hand. However, the Raiders' offense continued to falter, unable to convert on any of their four shots, with only three on target.

Looking Ahead

For Clark, the victory is a significant step toward securing a top seed in the upcoming playoffs, as they look to continue their undefeated run. Next up they will travel to Highline, Saturday, October 26th in hopes of securing that top seed.
