Clark Secures Victory Over Tacoma, Maintains Unbeaten Streak

In an electrifying showdown on October 16, 2024, the Clark men's soccer team showcased their dominance once again, defeating Tacoma 3-1 to extend their unbeaten streak to 11 matches. The game, held in Tacoma, WA, featured a mix of tactical brilliance and standout performances that kept fans engaged from start to finish.

First Half Highlights:

The first half started with Clark finding the back of the net firsth In the 34th minute, Abraham Alvarez-Castro opened the scoring, finishing a well-placed assist from Christian Silva to give Clark a 1-0 lead. Just a few minutes later, Randy Valdivia doubled the advantage, capitalizing on a Tacoma defensive lapse to score his sixth goal of the season.

With a 2-0 lead at halftime, Clark looked in command. They had dominated possession and outshot Tacoma 11 to 3, highlighting their offensive prowess. Tacoma struggled to find rhythm, managing only a couple of chances that were thwarted by Clark's goalkeeper, Jake Bilsborough.

Second Half Resurgence:

The second half saw Tacoma come out with renewed energy, looking to cut into Clark's lead. Their efforts paid off in the 65th minute when Koren Anderson scored with an assist from Cris Posadas, making it 2-1 and briefly igniting hopes of a comeback for the home side.

However, Clark quickly extinguished those hopes. Just minutes later, in the 86th minute, Christian Silva struck again, assisted by Valdivia, to restore the two-goal cushion at 3-1.

  • Shots: Clark dominated with 20 shots, 11 of which were on target. Tacoma managed 9 total shots, with 7 on goal.
  • Saves: Bilsborough was in top form, recording 6 saves, while Tacoma's Leif Hunter faced a barrage of shots, making 8 saves.
  • Corners: Both teams earned corners, with Clark taking 4 and Tacoma 2, reflecting the offensive pressure exerted by Clark throughout the match.

Final Thoughts:

With this victory, Clark continues to solidify their position at the top of the standings, now boasting a record of 10-0-1. The team's blend of skill and teamwork was evident, as they controlled the pace of the game and effectively shut down Tacoma's attempts to mount a serious challenge.
