VANCOUVER, Wash. -
Justin Willis was clutch at the plate on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Clark College past Grays Harbor, 10-9 on Saturday. Willis drove in runs on a home run in the second and a home run in the third.
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. The penguins collected nine hits and the chokers had seven.
Grays Harbor fired up the offense in the first inning, when Thomson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Clark College Penguins tied things up at nine.
Josh Schleichardt drove in one when on a single.
The chokers scored four runs in the fourth inning, on a grand slam by Winterhalder.
Ryan Keith earned the win for the penguins . The pitcher surrendered three runs on three hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Braeden Youkon threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Roundy took the loss for the chokers. Roundy went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on three hits.
Stutesasmen started the game for Grays Harbor. He surrendered five runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out three.
Dylan Waite started the game for Clark. The lefthander went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out two
Clark Colleges tallied three home runs on the day. Willis went deep in the second and third innings.
Jewell Williams had a four bagger in the second inning.
The penguins saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Schleichardt and Willis each had multiple hits for Clark College Penguins.
Grays Harbor racked up seven hits. With Thomson and Winterhalder leading for the chokers.
