It Takes Extra Innings for Centralia to Grab Game 1 in the Series

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College Penguins drops game to Centralia in extra innings, after late score.

Clark Baseball stayed in it until the end, but Centralia pulled away late in a 7-4 victory in game 1 on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Centralia batting in the top of the fourteenth when Terry grounded out, scoring one run.

The Penguins lost despite out-hitting the trailblazers eleven to seven.

In the third inning, Centralia got their offense started when Acklus singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the seventh inning, they tied things up at four. An error scored two runs for Centralia.

Clark tallied four runs in the sixth inning. The penguins' offense in the inning came from singles by Nick LaurenzaCaden Parker, and Canon Humphreys.

Morgan got the start for the trailblazers. Morgan went six innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out seven.

Eddie Dwyer started the game for Clark College. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two runs on three hits over six innings, striking out five. Braeden Getch and Spencer McGuire entered the game as relief, throwing seven and a third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Clark racked up 11 hits. Humphreys, Parker, and Jewell Williams all managed multiple hits for the penguins . Humphreys went 3-for-6 at the plate to lead Clark in hits.

Acklus led Centralia with four hits in six at bats.
