VANCOUVER, Wash. -
Dylan Waite threw a shutout to lead Clark College penguins past Yakima Valley 4-0 on Saturday.
Clark College got things moving in the first inning.
Justin Willis singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Clark tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by the penguins was led by
Jewell Williams,
Xavier Gilmore, and Willis, all driving in runs in the frame.
One bright spot for Yakima was a double by Andrew Graham in the first inning.
Waite led things off on the mound for Clark College. The southpaw surrendered zero runs on three hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one.
Zaid Flynn led things off on the pitcher's mound for YVCC. He went three innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out five. Jagger Harris threw three innings in relief.
Gilmore, Willis, Williams,
Taydem Neal, and
Carter Monda each managed one hit to lead Clark. The penguins didn't commit a single error in the field. Willis had the most chances in the field with seven.
