Penguins XC, T&F Announce New Roster Addition

Clark distance add Max Wilwand out of Walla Walla, WA

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Clark College Men's Cross Country and Track & Field announce the newest addition to their roster, Max Wilwand out of Walla Walla, WA. 

Penguins Men's distance programs increase their success potential with the addition of Wilwand as he joins the Penguin Family after a successful high school career.

Athletic Accomplishments:
Cross Country:
  • 2x Most Improved Award
  • Hawk Pride Award
  • 2nd team All-SCAC
  • State Qualifier
  • 5k PR- 17:49
Track & Field:
  • Honorable Mention in 3200
  • 3200 PR- 11:16.17
  • 1600 PR- 5:3.16
  • 800 PR- 2:22.98
Academic Accomplishments:
  • 3.7 GPA
  • Member of Speech and Debate Club

"I chose to go to Clark because it's a great opportunity for me to improve not only as a runner but as a person. The coach seems like a great guy and I am really excited to get to work with him," says Wilwand.

"Max came very highly recommended by his high school coach due to his work ethic, by being known as a great teammate and his excellence in the classroom," said Penguins XC Head Coach, Owen Frasier. "His winning the school's most improved award twice shows his determination to grow and continue to push himself, which we like a lot."
