The men's cross country team has another exciting event tomorrow to tune up for the Southern Region Championships and Northwest Athletic Conference Championships both coming up over the next few weeks.Â
The penguins will run tomorrow, Saturday, October 19th at the Lewis and Clark Invite. The event will be held down at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon. A beautiful setting for the mens 8K race.Â
The penguins will send
Micah Goff, the sophomore out of Union High School, who is coming off an impressive performance at the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational, in which he finished 1st for the penguins and 63rd overall out of 166 runners. The team will also get freshman
Evans Kaame back from injury to run in this race as well. Kaame has been hampered by injury all season, racing in only one race so far, but he will rejoin the team to run this weekend. He will be joined by
Leobardo Llamas,
Spencer Pugh,
Damien Anderson and
Gustav Baur.Â
Also running into tomorrow's race will be
Isaac Lozier. The freshman out of Kalama High School "has been improving greatly over the season and can make a difference in the race" Head Coach Bob Williams said.Â
Clark will see three other NWAC schools at the event, Chemeketa, powerhouse's Treasure Valley Community College and last year's men's NWAC Champion Lane Community College.
It should prepare the men well for the upcoming South Region Championships and NWAC Championships both in November.Â
