Biography

Siblings: Samantha

Favorite Athlete: Of course any pitcher would say this, but Jennie Finch.

Favorite softball memory: When my sister hit the ball off the fence, almost getting a home-run, and then I was up to bat next and hit a home-run, which brought her in. She was so mad, especially the next day when the Oregonian read, “Sam Oldham crushed a hit into the center-field fence for a two-run double, and came in herself when sister Kelsey lifted a home-run ball past the scoreboard- a blast that put the 10-run mercy rule into play.” My favorite, probably her least favorite. It just reminded me of how we always competed against each other, but that always made us better, it also made us a good team.

What brought you to Clark: My sister is a year older than me and played for Clark before me, I wanted to continue my career playing with my sister one last time.

Best thing about Clark: Small class sizes, teachers really interact with you, beautiful campus, and all the endless opportunities to get tutoring so you are successful.

Softball past: Before I played at Reynolds the team wasn’t all that great, only winning a few games a year. When my class came in we always went .500 or above which was a huge turn around compared to the previous years. Sophomore and Junior year I got 1st Team All-Conference Utility Player, and my senior year I received 2nd Team All-Conference Pitcher. I started playing softball when I was 10 years old, but didn’t start playing tournament ball until I was about 12. I played here and there, but ended strong with the Cardinals, by far my favorite team to play for. My previous year at Clark I ended with a .255 batting average.

Favorite Quote: “The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.”

Favorite Movie: My favorite movie would have to be any of the Rocky movies, being an athlete they always motivate me.

Favorite thing about softball: All the people you meet in your lifetime of playing. All the friendships are ones you’ll have forever.

Quote for this season: “If you want it, work for it. It’s that simple.”
